Website Development Job Description for Redesign
Task management Finalization
  1. Look at original Job Description (to see that implementation)
  2. Look at our new design's Home page and Task Detail page
  3. Think of anything new that would be needed
  4. Create the system diagram to show the flow for Tasks
  • Think about flow/logic for Task management. Edit this: https://javul.org/wiki/Website_Development_Job_Description_for_Redesign
  • Check previous Task management functionality
  • Check Upwork for Task description items
  • Make interface for bidding (from bidders and task manager's viewpoint, and also from any other users point [just display data])
  • Look at Task management flow and operations
  • Alerts for items requiring attention (how the flow works) e.g. Task Evaluation, Completion, Task Assigned, Task Accepted (after completion)
  • Look at Decision making in a group (aspects: consensus, avoiding authoritarian actions, efficiency etc)
    • Vote weight according to past contributions (awards received etc)?. For new users (less than 50 points, 0.2x and so on). Need to make a lookup table

Forum:

  • General Discussion (at top)
  • Issues, Ideas, Objectives, Tasks
  • Administrative Issues:
    • Discussions for editing Issue Types ... and other items
  • Think about Forum .. how to divide
  • Donation Options (review previous and plan for this one)
  • Distribution of funds available for activity points (e.g. if $1000 is available, we can only keep $100 for activity points e.g. a user who has 20% of all activity points can be awarded 20% of the $100. And the rest for tasks). Need to decide on the specifics
  • Design of Payment and Distribution system
  • (maybe) Get hired help from Bubble.io export to make prototype
  • Start new doc
LATER
  • Government and Leadership (new sub-project)
    • Ask for help from Political Science (1) post on reddit on politics related sub-reddits (2) try Upwork for consulting advice from political experts
  • Issue Resolution Rate: For Statistics, we want to keep a total number for all of history, and also for the last 6 months.
  • Unit: State: Active, Archived (changed by site admin) [internally 0,1]. Display this field only if Archived
Things to think about
  • Tags for things.. such as Units? Categories exist
  • Skills for people
  • Skills for tasks
  • User related information
    • Skills, history etc
    • Activity points

Open-source Society Project

  • Finalize main page of Taxi app (main task) - Taxi home page
    1. job revise (upwork)
    2. done (nothing special): Check old design (both for the Job descr, and the final implemented design)
    3. Check project management images on Google, for both the main page and the Side menu
    4. Finalize Right side menu
    5. Analyze previous ideas from Team meetings and add them
    6. Edit design with updates from the above
Reminders for me
  • Define sub-tasks as much as possible (this needs to be complete before a main task is begun)

Key Components[edit | edit source]

  • Ideation
  • Problem Analysis and Solution Tools
  • Issue Reporting and Resolution
  • Goal-setting
  • Task Management
    • Skills
    • Areas of Interest
  • Reputation Systems:
    • Idea Points
    • Activity Points
  • Reward/Motivational Systems (Monetary or points or awards)
  • Participatory Budgeting
  • .. others

After deployment[edit | edit source]

  • The 'System improvements' Unit should have seperate forums for Products/Services, and Govt/Leadership
  • Referral system: (users being rewarded if they recruit good contributors). Need to decide/design something that works
  • Rewards for Task creators: It is challenging to create well-defined viable tasks so it is important to reward those who work on creating and editing tasks. Some reward should/will be given before tasks are completed and a larger portion of reward will be given if a task is completed. For these reasons it is in the best interests of the task creators to make tasks that can be completed. Rewards could be 10% of the task’s completion award amount given separately. So if the task completer gets $100, the task creator will get $10. In case of multiple task editors, the task completer can decide how to split their reward depending on who contributed the most to the creation of the task. Need to see if the User activity points takes care of this in some way
  • Decision Making module: Also need to be a wiki object. Voting but it has to be supported with researched reasoned arguments. Need some guidelines so its not divisive/partisan etc but rather as objective/rational as possible
  • Need private messaging for users, and also a public message board for each other (like Wikipedia)
